The Alburys Charitable Foundation (TACF) was established by Malcolm and Gail Paterson to fulfil their wishes to formalise and expand their charitable giving over the remainder of their lives. Those wishes are dominated by the desire to support disadvantaged children, organisations involved in animal welfare, and young artists in the world of musical theatre.
Trustee and Administration Manager
Malcolm finished paid employment in 2020 having retired gradually from his own business advising individual clients on the investment management of their pension funds. He is keen on 2-wheel transport (both with and without an engine) and passionate about musical theatre. Malcolm exercises by cycling, playing golf badly and walking with Gail!
Chair of Trustees
Gail retired a few years ago from her work as a corporate pensions consultant and partner in a firm of consulting actuaries. She is passionate about gardening, animals, and theatre. She also has a busy exercise regime involving swimming, gym work, pilates, and walking – sometimes with her friends and their dogs and sometimes with a husband!
Trustee
Stuart currently works in finance for one of the world's most recognised news brands, with his day-to-day activities involving a mix of financial planning, analysis, and strategic thinking. He's always keen to share his career path and the skills he's developed and does so by volunteering at local schools. To unwind, Stuart is likely to be found atop a bicycle in the countryside, or running around his local area, before tucking into some Asian food with a good film.
Trustee
Gemma has spent her career working within Event Management and Marketing for the IT and Cyber Security Industry. Leaving this behind in 2020, she joined forces with her husband to support the growth of his Education Recruitment business. Gemma has two very energetic children, and when she's not driving them around to their sports clubs, she enjoys running, cooking, going to the theatre and watching movies. She is passionate about supporting children and encouraging them to be the very best version of themselves.
Trustee
Jacqui spent 37 years working as a PA and events coordinator for a well-known company in the financial sector in London. After a brief time living in France, she returned to the UK in 2022 and began working as an administrator for a housing association. She currently works in their finance department. Jacqui likes to keep active by cycling, running and walking and she also loves cooking. Jacqui is passionate about travel and the countryside and loves animals.
