Log into Smile Amazon using the address below and select “get started”. If you are already an Amazon customer, you will be invited to use your existing login details. When you have logged in you can nominate your chosen charity. Thereafter, always log into Amazon Smile and 0.5% of every qualifying purchase will go that charity. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/
Go to the Easyfundraising website then create an account and nominate your chosen charity. Make sure you add the Easyfundraising extension to your browser.
Thereafter, whenever you go to an online retailer that supports Easyfundraising, you will be presented with a choice: include the donation or not.
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for The Alburys Charitable Foundation with easyfundraising?
There are over 7,000 brands on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
A huge number of retailers have undertaken to divert some of the profits they make from online purchases to a charity chosen by the purchaser.
The retailers don’t charge their customers any extra, they simply divert a small percentage of the online payment to the charity the customer has chosen.
The retailers gain extra marketing kudos from their customers, the nominated charity gains a few pence from every purchase, and it costs the customer nothing!
TACF is already accredited with Amazon Smile and Easyfundraising and, as an example of what can be achieved, Gail generated donations adding up to over £30 with a “relatively modest” amount of online activity over the first few weeks of TACF being registered.
Of course, anyone who reads this may already have a favourite charity which they support regularly. In that case, they could use Amazon Smile and Easyfundraising to help their chosen charity even more. However, anyone who has a mind to support The Alburys Charitable Foundation, could sign up and nominate our charity for that purpose.
Initially, TACF will accumulate funds as a result of personal donations from its 2 Founding Trustees. The 2 Founding Trustees also intend to make TACF a named beneficiary of a proportion of their pension funds.
The 2 Founding Trustees have also made provision in their Wills to bequeath a proportion of their estates to TACF.
TACF will also expect to generate revenue as a result of the interest earned on cash deposits and bonds, dividends paid on equity-based investments and tax reclaimed from HMRC as a consequence of donations made by taxpayers.
In time, the trustees may consider an active marketing strategy aimed at securing donations from private individuals and businesses. When we reach that stage, TACF will begin to seek donations from individuals, groups or businesses who have taken the trouble to learn about TACF and its objectives, who share those objectives and who wish to harness the processes we have put in place for making grants to other charities within the scope of our charitable purposes.
In the meantime, we will communicate to family members, to friends and other contacts another method of fundraising: online retailers.
